St. Patrick's Day

This week our theme was “St. Patrick’s Day”.  The children made leprechauns, pots of gold & rainbows.  We also worked on number identification, same vs. different, rhyming and name printing.  Our letter for the week was Qq and we reviewed the numbers 1 & 2.

Next week our theme will be the “Zoo”.  We will be learning about a variety of zoo animals and the children will be making a giraffe, monkey, tiger and a zebra.  The children will also create a classroom book about what animals they might see at the zoo.  We will work on putting the numbers 1-10 in order and will use our sense of hearing to play an animal sounds game.  Our letter for the week will be Zz and we will review the numbers 3 & 4.

*Week of the Young Child: April 6^th-12^th (Activities & Events to be announced).

*Early Release Day: Thursday, April 17^th.  Please send a note if your child should go somewhere other than their normal destination.

*Easter Vacation: No school on Friday, April 18^th or Monday, April 21^st.

Arctic Animals

This week our theme was “Arctic Animals”.  The children made a polar bear and a penguin.  We continued to work on name printing, counting, number identification, matching and sequencing.  Our letter for the week was Pp.

As your child shares the work they’ve done at school and completes homework with you, please take note of any skills that they may be struggling with.  Additional practice of those skills at home will help them to learn and retain what are working on at school.

*No School: Monday, March 31^st (Inservice).
