Valentine's Day

This week our theme was “Valentine’s Day”.  We made several items out of hearts including a butterfly and a panda bear.  The children continued to work on number identification, matching, graphing and patterns. Our letter for the week was Vv and we began reviewing numbers again by starting over with the number 1.  A special thanks to everyone who sent in Valentines, we all had a wonderful time opening our cards!

Next week our theme will be “Arctic Animals”.  The children will be making a polar bear, walrus and penguin.  We will continue to work on counting, number identification, matching and sequencing.  We will review the number 2 and learn about the letter Pp.

Dinosaurs

This week our theme continued to be ‘Dinosaurs’.  On Wednesday and Thursday we enjoyed our field trip to the Broadway Theater to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs!  We also made a classroom book about dinosaurs and created a dinosaur’s skeleton. We learned about the number 10 and our letter for the week was Oo.

Next week our theme will be ‘Valentine’s Day’.  We will be making several items out of hearts including a butterfly & and a panda bear!  The children will continue to work on matching, graphing and patterns. Our letter for the week will be Vv and we will focus on the number 1 again during our second round of number identification.  Please remember that your child can bring in their Valentine’s Day cards at any time before our party.  (If you choose to send a treat for the party is should be wrapped, as we won’t have time to eat everything).
