Week Of 2-21-11

This week our theme was ‘Nursery Rhymes & Rhyming’.  We learned about rhyming words and played a lot of rhyming games (keep practicing at home too)!  The children also made a picture of Humpty Dumpty & created a garden for Mary Mary Quite Contrary.  Our letter for the week was Nn.
We also welcomed a new student into our Tues/Thurs group and have a student teacher working in our classroom during the week.  Her name is Mrs. Rachel and she is hoping to enter into education when she finishes her schooling.  We hope she enjoys her time with us and learns a lot!  :)

Week of 2-7-11

This week our theme was ‘Valentine’s Day’.  We made several items out of hearts including a butterfly, a ladybug and a panda bear!  The children continued to work on number identification, matching, graphing and patterns. Our letter for the week was Vv and we finished our number review with #10.  On Wednesday & Thursday we opened the Valentine’s that our friends brought for us!  Thank you to all that brought Valentine’s and made our day special by showing how much you care!

Week of 1-31-11

This week our theme continued to be ‘Dinosaurs’. On Monday and Tuesday we enjoyed our field trip to the Broadway Theater to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs! The children had a wonderful time and were very well behaved! During the week we will also make a classroom book about dinosaurs and create dinosaur’s skeletons. We will review the numbers 8 & 9 and our letter for the week will be Oo. Remember to visit our classroom website (link on the right side) for even more information and pictures from our class.
