Dr. Seuss & Rhyming

This week our theme was ‘Dr. Seuss & Rhyming’.  We continued to work with rhyming words as we read some Dr. Seuss books.  The children made the Cat in the Hat, painted a One-Fish Two-Fish bowl, made the Cat in the Hat hats and played a variety of rhyming games.  Our letter for the week was Rr.

Next week our theme will be ‘Nighttime’.  We will be talking about outer space and things that happen at night.  The children will make a rocket, an owl and a classroom book about nighttime activities.  On Wednesday/Thursday we will have pajama day in pre-k.  Our letter for the week will be Kk.

*Pajama Day: Your child is invited to wear pajamas and slippers in school on Wed., March 6^th OR Thurs., March 7^th.

*Please wash and return your child’s pillow and blanket.

*FBI Swimming Event: Friday, March 15^th (for those that have signed up).

*No School: (Easter Vacation) March 29-April 1^st.

Nursery Rhymes

This week our theme was ‘Nursery Rhymes & Rhyming’.  We learned about rhyming words and played a lot of rhyming games (keep practicing at home too)!  The children also made a picture of Humpty Dumpty & created a garden for Mary Mary Quite Contrary.  Our letter for the week was Nn.

Next week our theme will be ‘Dr. Seuss & Rhyming’.  We will continue to work with rhyming words as we read Dr. Seuss books.  The children will make the Cat in the Hat, paint a One-Fish Two-Fish fish bowl, make Cat hats and play a variety of rhyming games.  Our letter for the week will be Rr.

Valentine's Day

This week our theme was ‘Valentine’s Day’.  We made several items out of hearts including a butterfly, a ladybug and a panda bear!  The children continued to work on number identification, matching, graphing and patterns. Our letter for the week was Vv and we all had a wonderful time opening our Valentine’s Day cards!

 Next week our theme will be ‘Nursery Rhymes & Rhyming’.  We will learn about rhyming words and play a lot of rhyming games (it would be good to practice rhyming at home over the weekend as well).  The children will hear a variety of nursery rhymes and make a picture of Humpty Dumpty and create a garden for Mary Mary Quite Contrary!  Our letter for the week will be Nn.
