The Week of January 2nd

This week our theme was ‘Snowmen & Snow’.  The children made snowmen & snowflakes.  We worked together with a partner to create a page for our classroom book called We Made A Snowman!  We also worked on patterning, counting, 1:1 correspondence (touching & counting each object) and numerical order.  Our letter for the week was Ss.
Next week our theme will be ‘Arctic Animals’.  The children will be making a polar bear, walrus and penguin.  We will continue to work on counting, number identification, matching and sequencing.  We will review the numbers 1 & 2 and our letter for the week will be Pp.

 Reminders & Updates:
*The Big Cheese: We will be starting ‘The Big Cheese’ in January.  The children have been randomly assigned a week in which they will be ‘The Big Cheese’.  Your family will get a poster to create and a note containing more information when it is your child’s turn.  This will be their special week to share whatever they choose: a special snack, show & tell item, family poster, etc…  Watch for your child’s turn as ‘The Big Cheese’ in the upcoming weeks/months!
*FBI Movie Event: Please return your permission slip if you plan to join us for the movie Despicable Me in the SES gym on Friday, Jan. 20th.
*No School: Friday, Jan 27th (Inservice)
