Games & Sportsmanship

This week our theme was ‘Games & Sportsmanship’.  The focus of our week was on taking turns, sharing, participating and being a good sport.  Many of our games incorporated academic skills such as counting, colors, shapes, matching, etc…  To finish our week the second grade classes came in to play games with us!  Our letter for the week was Gg and we reviewed the numbers 5 & 6.

Next week our theme will be ‘Dinosaurs’.  We will be making dinosaur masks and dotted dinosaurs.  The children will also watercolor dinosaurs made out of paper plates and participate in centers to learn about sorting, graphing and patterning. We will focus on the letter Dd and review the numbers 7 & 8.

 Reminders & Updates:                 

       *No School: Jan 24^th (Inservice)

*Movie Theater Field Trip: Wednesday, Feb. 5^th OR Thursday, Feb. 6^th.  Your child will need to bring $3.00 for snack (popcorn & soda) due by Jan. 29^th or 30^th.

*Report cards will be sent home at the end of this month.  It will be beneficial to your child if you take time to practice any of the skills they still struggle with at home as well.

*No School: Friday, Feb. 14^th

*Early Release Day: Feb. 25^th.
